Lines Sportiboy rocking horse in need of restoration. A previous restoration has replaced the rocking brackets, saddle and tack and fitted a synthetic mane (slotted). It has also been repainted. However the original Lines-Triang round makers badge is intact, albeit painted over, dating this rocking horse to the period 1927-30 before the triangular badge was used.
This is an excellent restoration project for a genuine antique that is otherwise structurally sound and intact. Henry is rot and infestation free apart from some minor woodworm on the cross pieces, which has been treated, although probably dormant in any case.
A competent restoration involving repainting, replacing the mane and tack and varnishing the stand could expect to bring his value up to about £1600.
