Antique Rocking Horse
Woodrow/Swallow rocking horses
Swallow is a professionally restored rocking horse by the firm G Woodrow, trading as Swallow Toys circa 1935.
This is an outstanding restoration of a quality antique rocking horse. The carving is excellent, with some "extra carving" on the neck, all completely repainted as a sympathetic dapple grey.
The tack includes a fixed leather bridle, with a detachable leather saddle on a deep blue saddlecloth with gold braid trim. The horse has finally been completed with a fine natural horse hair silver grey mane and tail.
The stand has been refurbished and along with the horse all is sound and in full working order. This is a beautiful graceful rocking horse with all the investment value of a fine antique.
Body Length 22"
Length Overall 40"
The firm of G Woodrow and Co was founded in 1932 out of part of the remnants of G&J Lines Ltd. It traded as Swallow Toys, with workshops and a showroom in London. It seems to have been a productive toy making business in the 1930s.
