Antique rocking horse attributed to Swan Toys circa 1910-30
Bruce is a delightfully restored small rocking horse attibuted to Swan Toys, 1930-1940. The horse has been fully restored, including repainting, new tack and a white natural horse hair mane and tail. Bruce is sound and in full working order.
Swan toys have a number of distinctive features, such as the rocking bearers being near or over the pillar tops and stand top shorter than the stand base. They also had a number metal plate in the saddle area, as indeed does Bruce, preserved under his saddle.

Swan Toys was a trading name for Star Manufacturing Company, based in London, they traded from 1887 til 1957. Star/Swan was affiliated with Simpson Fawcett & Co of Leeds.
Simpson Fawcett & Co was a major manufacturer of perambulators and toys based in Leeds from 1866 until 1957 when taken over by Triang.
