Sidney is an unusual rocking horse by an as yet unidentified maker. He has some distinctive features, notably a carousel style scroll at the back of his saddle. There are also wooden eyes (common pre 1900, less so in 20th century). We are still researching this interesting horse, although unknown the maker appears to have some association with carousel makers. There appears to be a maker's mark, SS, on the underside of the horse.
Sidney has been fully restored throughout. We have retained the carousel type appearance, in keeping with the fairground type scroll. He has a natural horse hair mane and tail, a leather saddle and bridle.
