Misty is a splendid extra carved J and G Lines rocking horse dating to circa 1890-1905. Stevensons Brothers have restored Misty in recent years. She has a leather saddle and bridle made to the pattern of the original, a natural horse hair mane and tail and her original glass eyes.
There is some slight fading of the saddle cloth but this cam be replaced if preferred.
The brackets bear the stamp J & G L, with another L underneath and a "3" above, which indicate  J and G Lines, London. A size 3 horse.

Lines operated from 1850-1931 initially in the busy King's Cross area of London. They became Victorian England's largest rocking horse maker, yet maintained the highest qualities of workmanship and carving. G & J stands for the founding brothers, George and Joseph Lines

"Extra carving" refers to additional detailed carving put on a horse on the neck and legs to replicate musculature and give a more realistic look to the horse. It was often an additional extra on otherwise standard horses.
