This is a fine example of one of the cheaper toy horses attributed to the 1950s. It is designed to be pushed along whilst the young rider sat on the red wooden seat. Construction is mostly dowel, plywood and a softwood frame, rubber rimmed pressed steel wheels and a rubber moulding over the "head" to give the appearance of a spotty horse.
Probably made by Lines Bros at their Merthyr Tydfil factory circa 1950. The above picture is attributed to that factory.
