Woody is a contemporary bow rocking horse of unknown provenance. He has a very usual arrangement for his bow, with the bow coming together at the front, certainly original thinking and functional enough.
The carving is reasonably good, the raised head and long muzzle is reminiscent of early bow rockers. Carved in pine, he has been varnished for a wood finish.
The natural horse hair mane and tail has been inserted into a groove, the saddle is fixed, no stirrups or bridle, just reins. All in this is a fine bow rocker for the price.
