Bearing the round triang badge dating to circa 1925-35, this hobby horse was made by Lines Bros Triang. These hobby horses appear in Lines Bros catalogues of the period, with a slection of sizes, this example being the smallest or "00" size, described as having a dappled head and mane, varnished stem and steel wheels.
This hobby horse is complete, although his mane has long gone, dapple shows some wear and tear for 80-90 years, varnish still intact, but also with wear and the steels wheels are still functioing, though havfe lost their red paintwork.
Triang was the brand name adopted by Lines Bros from 1927 onwards. It diversified into many toy products and post WW2 was reputed to be the world's largest toymaker.
